Difference between 32 bit and 64 bit OS

During my research about 64 and 32 bit operating system I found many people confused about what computer they should purchase or what "bit" system they should choose...I think this article is a great help for people to choose the correct machine for their use.

So, what is the difference between 32 and 64 bit operating system?

A 32 bit processor is faster than a 64 bit processor, 64 bit processors are very commonly used that you can find it easily in any home pc but the main difference is the hardware you are having on your machine. For 32 bits there isn't any need of any wide main bus to carry 32 bits at a time but for 64 bits its must that you should have a wider bus to carry 64bits.

The main difference between a 32 bit and 64 is that 32 bit system has 4gb(gigabytes) of space for addressing means that the 32 bit system has a limit of 4GB RAM to process data where as the 64 bit operating system has 2^64 bits of space to address and supports 16 hexabytes of RAM to process data.

In simple words an operating system of 32 bit has a 4GB limit to process any data depending upon the sizes of files and RAM

A person who does not care about the category will find 64 bit more beneficial than 32 bit because he can use 64 bit OS with 32 bit OS and software. If we compare 64 bit with 32 bit OS, 64 bit is faster and performs more upgraded silicon processes and have more no of transistors which proves it to be more advantageous than 32 bit.

Now most of the software companies are developing their software in accordance to the 64 bit environment, it's really hard for the consumers to run a 64 bit application in 32 bit environment, in this case they have to upgrade their hardware's such as RAM which is also a big issue because most of the computer users have less than 1Gb in their systems.

So instead of changing your hardware often I would recommend 32 bit OS over 64 bit which is more user friendly and enables its user to run applications of 64 bit in 32 bit environment.

The Answer As to Why My Computer Keeps Freezing

This is just a simple article I have written when I found myself asking what happened to my computer. My computer keeps freezing every time I try to load something up. Then, I went to the internet to search for some solutions and found out why this has happened. I found that his has happened to my computer because the registry has been compromised.

The registry is like a database or a library where all the files are stored. Everything that has kept my computer running is inside the registry. That was when I knew that the registry is as vital as the computer's CPU. I found out how to scan through my registry and found lots of disconnected files as well as empty ones. I knew there was something wrong as my computer keeps freezing.

The good thing about the internet is that I have found a useful tip that will probably help my fix my computer. And,as I did a bit of research, there are a lot of products in the market about software called Registry Cleaners. A registry cleaner is a program that will help clean out the registry from invalid and empty files. They scan throughout the registry and get rid of these files. I felt relieved when I saw the results. My computer was back to tip top shape and everything was running smoothly unlike before where everything was such a task. Now my computer loads up my favorite game with such ease.

There is one last thing I want to share. Although there are a lot of registry cleaners out in the market, there are only a few out there that can be trusted. Some advertise themselves with effective results and end up failing their consumers. The best that you could do is to download a trial version and give it a test run to make sure that it works for you.

There is no need to say "my computer keeps freezing?" anymore, just click here for the best solution to computer problems.

Windows 7 Gives More Mobility and Security

The least obvious but an important factor is the Windows 7 customizable power management features. In addition to simply customizable power management plans, the software giants has finally come up with a running form of hibernation. Closing your notebook lid puts it to sleep, whilst re-opening it means near-instant wake up.

While it is not likely to be helped by many existing notebooks, Windows 7 is also sensor-savvy and can deploy GPS, light sensors and 3G modems to bring a couple of added intelligence into mobile computing. Notebook screens can be smartly brightened and dimmed, in consonance to ambient light levels. Location smarts can generally add smarts to Windows 7's integrated search capabilities.

Add to this a mobile control centre for easy access to frequently used mobile settings, simple to use wireless connectivity, and location aware printing which can itself know which default printer to use depending which network a notebook is connected to, and also things are looking decidedly good for mobile users. Microsoft will include a Windows 7 Starter Edition, which is crafted for low-end notebooks and Notebooks, replacing XP without the performance ultimatums associated with migrating to Windows Vista.

Maybe Vista's greatest flaw was its over-zealous User Account Control (also known as UAC, or universal annoyance control). Twitching the wrong way on your PC usually resulted in pop up UAC windows inquiring if you really wanted to go ahead with the task. Having this happen too many times a day quickly became unbearable. UAC is deployed in Windows 7, but Microsoft has sensibly chosen to make it far less complicated.

The new Windows 7 default UAC's setting will only tell you when an application tries change settings on your PC and will otherwise leave you to yourself. UAC settings can also easily be changed thanks to a slider control which ranges from Vista level alerts through to 'never notify.'

Windows 7 also won't Auto-run external storage when it is connected, significantly reducing the scope for virus infections. One will though need to add your own security software to Windows 7, but the software giants has also tweaked the Windows 7 Firewall.

Where firewall settings falling in Vista were at best limited, Window 7's are far more granular, enabling easy access to features such as filtering outbound traffic.

With the final retail version of Windows 7 it's hard not to be impressed. Where Vista was a swollen monolith that seemed hell-bent on making its presence conspicous, Microsoft has got Windows 7 right to a mark where it unobtrusively lets you get on with the task at hand.

Getting Windows 7 or purchasing it is a no-brainer if you're buying a new PC. Upgrading from Vista will also give performance gains. Migrating from XP may need a fresh install but will give you a largely more secure and stable PC.

Microsoft Windows 8 may surface in 2012

Windows 8 will be with us in 2012, according to Microsoft roadmaps apparently revealed at last week's Professional Developers' Conference (PDC).

Although Microsoft has yet to officially discuss plans for Windows 8, a 2012 release would be consistent with previous Microsoft pledges to release a new desktop operating system every three years. Windows 7 was released a month ago.

The latest speculation suggesting a 2012 release has been credited to Microsoft Kitchen, a blog with the tagline 'Serving up some seriously tasty Microsoft'.

Microsoft denies building security 'backdoor' in Windows 7 | Hackers skip Windows 7 activation controls | Microsoft releases Windows 7 download code under GPL v2

Despite showing roadmaps apparently picked up at PDC, the blog has little else to reveal about Windows 8. However, a Microsoft employee may have inadvertently spilled the beans on one key Windows 8 feature last month.

Microsoft employee Robert Morgan appeared to detail the software giant's plans to make a 128-bit version of Windows 8, and even Windows 9, on LinkedIn, where he listed his job as 'senior research and development'. His profile, which has now been removed from the business networking site, said Morgan was "working in high security department for research and development involving strategic planning for medium and longterm projects".

It went on to reveal that his R&D projects included: "128-bit architecture compatibility with the Windows 8 kernel and Windows 9 project plan". He's also responsible for "forming relationships with major partners: Intel, AMD, HP and IBM".

Microsoft is also looking for employees to help shape Windows 8, according to reports online. Neowin.net spotted the vacancy for a Windows 7 software engineer on Microsoft's site.

"We just finished up work on Windows 7, and are pushing forth on Windows 8 planning and preparation," said the blurb in the job ad, which was replicated on the CodenameWindows website.

"As part of this team, you will help shape Windows 8. Components of our code include a core agent that runs as an NT service, an API layer and a UI application," added the advert
